Welcome to Seattle Undergound's Webpage!
Seattle Underground is a brand new breed of Seattle's best female Ultimate Frisbee athletes. The squad combines former players from the city's teams VIVA and Riot, stars from Western Washington, University of Washington and Pacific Lutheran University, as well as some key new Seattlites. Under the leadership of Cyle Van Auken (UW's 2009 Co-coach), this team promises to turn heads as the summer turns into fall.
We had an outstanding initiation tournament at Flower Bowl in Vancouver, BC in early June, winning the tournament against tough Canadian rivals.
At Eugene, OR's Solstice tournament three weeks later, we made it to semi-finals where we took a young Fury squad to 10-15, the second most points scored against Fury that tournament. The Bay Area team would go on to win Solstice, finding victory over our cross-town rivals, Riot, 15-12.
With the team coming together and pushing each other three times a week - track on Tuesday nights, and practice on Thursdays and Saturdays, Seattle Underground is gearing up for a ground-breaking, competitive fall season!
